Can you extend speaker wire

Here is a tip that is not obvious to most people, offset the splices in the wire pair so there is ZERO chance of the wires touching. This should be done whether crimped or soldered.

This would be more common when soldering, though when soldering you should cover each individual wire with its own Heat-Shrink Tubing, and then if you want cover both splices with a 3rd Heat-Shrink covering them both.
